When I accepted this commission, my intention was to create a composition which would be a celebration of Ceredigion in the light of The First National Show in Aberystwyth, 1904. It was challenging insomuch that the potential was so vast. Yet again, I was readily aware of the pitfall of creating a photo album. One of the requirements of an artist is the self-discipline to simplify.

As I pondered over the work some of the essential images emerged. The images I refer to are - a gathering of country people, the landscape of the county & the flamboyant Welsh Cob - images which have fired my imagination for decades.
